Prof. Dr. habil. Maximilian Schochow joined the Department of Education in the Bachelor's and Master's degree program in Medical Education at the SRH University of Health Gera Campus on October 1, 2022.
In 2003, Prof. Dr. habil. Maximilian Schochow completed his master's degree in theater and political science at the University of Leipzig. He then worked as a research assistant in the BMBF project "The Past Future of Europe" and was awarded his doctorate in 2008 at the University of Leipzig with the thesis "Die Ordnung der Hermaphroditen-Geschlechter. A Genealogy of the Concept of Gender".
This was followed by teaching and research positions as a research assistant at the Center for Higher Education Didactics at the University of Leipzig (2009-10), as a research assistant at the Institute for Political Science at the University of Leipzig (2010-11), and as a research assistant at the Institute for History and Ethics of Medicine at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg (2011-16).
In 2016, he joined the Institute for History, Theory and Ethics of Medicine at the University of Ulm as a research associate. There he followed up in 2018 with his habilitation thesis on "Zwischen Erziehung, Heilung und Zwang. Closed Venereological Institutions in the SBZ/GDR."
From 2020 to 2022, Prof. Dr. habil. Maximilian Schochow was a teacher for health and nursing at the vocational school "Dr. Erich Paulun" at the Asklepios Clinic Pasewalk and a lecturer at the Department of Health, Nursing, Management at the University of Applied Sciences Neubrandenburg.
